Practical Nursing (LPN) Programs in Maine

Maine state law requires that in order to be licensed and practice as a practical nurse, one must complete a state approved certificate or diploma program designed to prepare practical nurses. As of December, 2007, there are five community colleges approved by the Maine State Board of Nursing that offer LPN programs. As of the publishing of this page, only Central Maine Community College is offering a practical nursing program. This information may have changed since publishing, so please inquire with the other colleges to verify.

On September 26, 2007, the Maine State Board of Nursing granted initial approval to Intercoast Career Institute (ICCI) to offer a practical nursing program.
