Vermont Nursing Job Outlook and Salary Information

Sen. Bernard Sanders, I-Vt stated, in a February, 2007 address, “To deal with the nursing shortage we want to increase the capacity of our nursing schools. In rural areas we are having a very difficult time attracting the medical personnel we need.”

“Here in the middle of a nursing crisis we don’t have the capacity to educate the people who want to be nurses,” he said. “We have to train a heck of a lot more nurses; we need to make the profession a lot more economically attractive.”

The bottom line is that because of this shortage nurses are in high demand and can basically write their own ticket for jobs anywhere in the the Northeast including Vermont. It appears that the future will hold higher salaries for nurses and better benefits, based on the Senator’s quotes. There really has not been a better time to start or advance your career in nursing.
