Associate’s Degree in Nursing Programs in Illinois

Registered nursing programs in Illinois are found throughout the state. In order to become a registered nurse in Illinois you will need to successfully complete an associate’s degree nursing program or a BSN program and then pass the NCLEX-RN national licensure exam. Graduates of the Illinois approved registered nurse associate’s degree programs below are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam.

An associate’s degree nursing program is also known as a two year nursing program, because it takes two years to complete. Associate’s degree programs focus on clinical nursing skills and prepare graduates for nursing careers in the hospital setting as well as community based settings. Associate’s educated registered nurses in Illinois work in intensive care units, labor and delivery and all other areas of the hospital. Community based positions would include home health care, hospice, long term care facilities and a variety of other positions.
