As a new practical nurse in Ohio, you will generally practice under the supervision of an RN. Your duties will include, but not be limited to delivering direct nursing care, administering medications, providing patient education, documentation of nursing actions as well as patient responses, and reporting any changes in patient condition to your supervisor. As you gain clinical experience, your responsibilities will increase and may include duties such as administering IV fluids, becoming a clinical mentor, or becoming a team leader.
