LPN Programs in Minnesota

LPNs work closely with registered nurses and other health care professionals to accomplish these goals on a daily basis in hospitals, home settings, long term care facilities, clinics and physician offices. There are many career options for LPNs including home health (the fastest growing sector in health care), physician offices, hospitals, medical clinics, medical spas, and other health care related facilities. The LPN has become a popular career step to becoming a registered nurse. There are LPN to BSN bridge programs located in Minnesota as well as online program options for Licensed Practical Nurses with and without work experience. Registered nurses in Minnesota earn nearly twice as much as LPNs and hold positions requiring more skills and training. Registered nurses also have many more career options. Minnesota’s nursing shortage has created a great need for LPNs as well as RNs and employers are fighting over the pool of candidates and with the over 65 population growing at astounding rates the need will continue to grow.

We have included only the LPN programs approved by the Minnesota Board of Nursing. Graduates of these programs are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Exam – PN (NCLEX-PN). Students can then apply for licensure in most states. You may also be interested in exploring medical assistant programs in Minnesota.
