Practical Nursing Programs in Michigan

LPNs in Michigan work under the direction of a registered nurse or physician. Laws in Michigan do not specify what tasks an LPN can or can not do and in most cases the LPN’s duties are defined by the supervising health care professional in the place of employment. According to the Michigan Center for Nursing, the scope of practice for LPNs in Michigan can vary significantly from practice to practice based on the specialty of the practice or clinic. Typical duties of an LPN include rooming patients, taking vitals, administering shots, draw blood and related tasks. Some responsibilities will require additional training/education. LPNs in Michigan are earning salaries or hourly wages equivalent to between $24,000 to over $50,000 a year. Senior living and home health care agencies are paying some of the higher salaries and have a large number of job openings.
