Why attend a nursing school accredited by the CCNE or NLNAC?
When choosing a nursing school, it is important to choose a program that is approved by your state. This ensures that the nursing program meets the minimum requirements set by the state for nursing licensure. Only graduates of state approved nursing programs will be allowed to sit for the state licensure examination. The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) are national accrediting agencies for nursing education programs recognized by the Council on Post-Secondary Accreditation, by the US Department of Education, and by the nursing profession itself. Schools accredited by either CCNE or NLNAC are recognized by each state as approved nursing programs.
