Becoming a CNA in NY

To become a new Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) in New York you will need to first complete a New York State approved nursing home nurse aide training program. These programs are offered at adult schools, nursing homes, proprietary schools, post secondary schools, secondary schools and some other training and workforce agencies. The second step will be to successfully pass the New York Nurse Aide Competency exam administered by Prometric, who also manages the New York State Nursing Home Nurse Aide Registry.
