Licensed Practical Nursing Programs in Florida

Florida Board of Nursing approved LPN training programs must meet educational standards set by the Board of Nursing. LPN classes will cover nursing theory, CPR and related courses as well as include clinical site experience. Clinical experience entails direct patient contacts and care with a licensed health care provider/preceptor. During the clinical portion, the LPN student gains hands on experience in patient care and preparation for what they will be doing once they become a licensed practical nurse. LPN programs take about one year to complete and graduates of Florida Board of Nursing approved programs will be eligible to take the NCLEX-PN exam to become a license practical nurse in Florida. The LPN programs in Florida most often require applicants to have a high school diploma or equivalent and may require a physical fitness exam.
